Serviço Municipal de Apoio ao Consumidor (SMAC)
In Portugal, access to legal assistance in terms of consumer law is free. Serviço Municipal de Apoio ao Consumidor (SMAC) is one of the services which ensures support to the citizens should there be a consumption conflict. It promotes mediation of consumption conflicts, clarifies doubts on rights and duties resulting from a commercial transaction or the rendering of a service and informs, guides and advises consumers according to the law in force.
Citizens may search SMAC form information and legal protection in actions resulting from the acquisition of goods and services, as well as the celebration of contracts.

Provedor do Munícipe
Provedor do Munícipe has the function of listening to the citizens who may consider their rights and legitimate interests at risk before the municipal organs and services and the municipal companies.
Besides that, he sees to the special needs of some groups of citizens, namely, homeless people, residents in non-municipal housing, ethnic minorities, refugees and migrants, people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence, children and young people at risk, among others.
This service is based on the 3rd floor of the City Hall at Praça General Humberto Delgado. It is subjected to previous booking in the Gabinete do Munícipe, located at Praça General Humberto Delgado, no. 266, on the following days and schedules:
- Tuesday, from 14h00 to 16h30; and
- Thursday, from 09h00 to 12h30.

Guided Tour to the City Hall
The citizens are offered the possibility to get to know, on the first Sunday of every month, the noble spaces of the building of the City Hall, in a guided tour, presented in Portuguese, which enables participants to get to know the interior of the building, historical facts and the most relevant architectonical features of the building.
In order to experience this service, the citizens must require a previous enrolment, which they can do by telephone or in person at Gabinete do Munícipe.
The service is provided in the City Hall, located at Praça General Humberto Delgado. The enrolment must be made through the telephone +351 222 090 400, or in person at Gabinete do Munícipe, located at Praça General Humberto Delgado, nº 266.
Note: There are applicable fees for this service (children under the age of 12 are exempt).
Adhesion to the Digital Mobile Key
It is possible to adhere to the Digital Mobile Key at the Citizen's Space of Gabinete do Munícipe.
The Digital Mobile Key is an alternative means to authenticate and access services in portals and websites of public and private entities, resorting to your mobile phone or email address.
You can subscribe this service at Gabinete do Munícipe, located at Praça General Humberto Delgado, nº 266, +351 222 090 400), at the Citizen’s Shop or the Parish Councils that have a Citizen's Space.

Alteration of the address
It is possible to request the alteration of the address at Gabinete do Munícipe or any other front desk of the Citizen's Space.
For such purpose, one must present the citizen card, with the access codes and the corresponding passwords.
